NRA: Donald Trump says ‘evil’ is reason to ‘arm law-abiding citizens’

Former President Donald Trump said in his speech to the National Rifle Association (NRA) three days after the school shooting in Texas, “evil” is the reason to “arm law-abiding citizens”.

“The existence of evil in our world is no reason to disarm law-abiding citizens,” Trump said at the NRA conference on Friday night. “The existence of evil is one of the best reasons to arm law-abiding citizens.”

While several Republican politicians, including Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, decided not to appear at the annual convention, Trump delivered his speech as planned.

“Every precious young soul taken is an unbelievable loss – stolen from us by a malice no words can describe,” Trump said.
