Nine players have been added to the NHL COVID-19 Protocol for a total of 30 . hits

Nearly a dozen NHL players participated in the COVID-19 Protocol Tuesday morning in the worst day of protocol slots in the 2021-22 season.

When the teams arrived at the rink on Tuesday morning, the players were also put into protocols. As of 12:45 am (EST), some players have officially joined the COVID-19 Protocol:

  • New York Islander striker Mat Barzal
  • Colorado Guardian Avalanche Devon Toews
  • Boston Bruins strikers Craig Smith and Brad Marchand
  • Florida Panthers forward Ryan Lomberg
  • Calgary Flames striker Sean Monahan and Milan Lucic
  • Fire Guardian Noah Hanifin
  • Vancouver Canucks defender Luke Schenn

The NHL currently has 30 players in COVID-19 protocols at the time of this writing, but that could change.
