Nicola Sturgeon’s Husband Released By Police Over SNP Financial Investigation | UK News

Nicola Sturgeon said she had “no prior knowledge” of police plans to arrest her husband Peter Murrell.
Police later said her husband was released “without charge” after he was arrested this morning.
He was questioned by Police Scotland investigators after being arrested at 7.45am.
He was released from custody at 6:57 p.m.
As part of the investigation, officers also conducted searches at a number of addresses today.
Police said a report would be sent to the Crown Office and the Procurator Fiscal Service.
A spokesman for the former Scottish First Minister said: “It would not be appropriate to comment on a live police inquiry.
“Nicola Sturgeon had no prior knowledge of the action or Police Scotland’s intentions.
“Ms Sturgeon will fully cooperate with Police Scotland if necessary, but no such request has been made at this time.”
Police Scotland said: “A 58-year-old man was arrested today, Wednesday 5 May.
“The man is in custody and is being questioned by investigators from Police Scotland.
“As part of the investigation, officers are also conducting searches at a number of addresses.
