Nick Kyrgios Wimbledon Quarterfinals vs Cristian Garin Live Scores, News

Nick Kyrgios lost the first nine points of his Wimbledon quarter-final match but bounced back spectacularly, berating the crowd and berating the referee on his way to a first-set win.

Nick Kyrgios has bounced back from a shocking start to the biggest match of his life by winning the first set of his quarter-finals at Wimbledon.

Kyrgios met Chile’s Cristian Garin for a spot in the semifinals – Kyrgios stumbled off the blocks and lost the first nine points of the competition, including his first love serve.

When he finally won a point – in game three – the first-place crowd gave him a rousing cheer that did little to ease his bad mood.

It wasn’t long before Kyrgios started berating the crowd and berating the chair umpire for anything that didn’t go his way – not just when sitting between games, but also after points on the pitch.

It’s a clumsy tactic that his detractors say aims to put his opponents out of the game – and viewers hate or love his tantrums.

It worked, however, as Kyrgios broke Garin’s serve in game six to level the setup at 3-3, then broke again to take the opening set 6-4 after 37 minutes.

Despite never having made a grand semi in his career, Kyrgios is an overwhelming favorite this time around by beating Garin after the Latino spent more than four and a half hours on the court to complete his fourth-round match against Australian Alex de Minaur to win .

The winner of the quarterfinals will play either Rafa Nadal or American Taylor Fritz in the semifinals.

Fritz reeled off five games in a row to win the opening set against the Spanish legend, but Nadal got an early break back in the second.
