Analysis and selection of NHL DFS for December 17, 21

As I am writing this, the means of blocking six games is taking shape. Hopefully there aren’t too many injuries on Friday night that could affect Saturday night.

Arizona will receive their league’s worst goal loss against Anaheim (3.64) and Anaheim remains one of the hotter teams in the NHL at the end of this season. There was also a great match between Winnipeg and Washington.

Vegas Odds of the Day

NHL DFS Goalies

Anthony Stolarz- DK $8.2 thousand || FD $ 7.4 thousand

Rivals – Arizona Coyotes

There has been some debate about whether John Gibson should start on Friday night. That depends on whether Gibson is really healthy after facing this lower body problem. It will be interesting to see how much traction Stolarz gets, especially on FanDuel. Stolarz has won six games in a row, which warrants his starting at least one more time on Friday. His run included two shutdowns and nearly hit the DraftKings savings bonus twice.

Charlie Lindgren- DK $8.1K || FD $ 7.8 thousand

Rivals – Dallas Stars

Lindgren drew a game against Dallas and he conceded just four goals in three games. The Blues goalkeeper should watch one more game but keep an eye on morning skates etc just to be sure. In case Lindgren does not play, there are a few goalkeepers below to use as plan B.

Others to consider (Cash/GPP): Jarry ($8.4 thousand || FD 8.6 thousand), Samsonov ($7.9 thousand || FD 8.4 thousand), Georgiev ($7.6 thousand || FD 7.4 thousand).

DFS Center NHL

Sidney Crosby-DK $8.1K || FD $ 7.5 thousand

Rivals – Buffalo Sabers

After a quiet start to the season after a long hiatus from the ice due to wrist surgery, Crosby is currently burning with 15 points in his last nine games and averaging more than three scoring opportunities per game. Yes, Jake Guentzel wasn’t hurt in the slightest but Danton Heinen was unscathed and Heinen provided a slightly more pay cut. When stacking, keep this in mind. Also, Evan Rodrigues is still rolling.

Colton Sissons- DK $2.5K || FD $ 3.7 thousand

Rivals – Chicago Blackhawks

So the Sissons get to play at the top while all of COVID ravages the Nashville Predator. Sissons has had two great nights in his last three games for the Predator. At least it’s worth playing striker one more time on Friday night, even in Chicago. He had five points and more shots on goal late in the game.

Others to consider (Cash/GPP): Zibanejad (DK $7.2K || FD 6.6K), Rodrigues (DK $5.8K || FD $5.6K), Zegras (DK $5,2K || FD $6,0K), Steel (DK) $2.6K || FD $3.7K) – Upper Wing DK

Troy Terry- DK $4.8 thousand || FD $6,0 thousand

Rivals – Arizona Coyotes

With Adam Henrique absent, Terry has had a couple of bad games but overall has three goals in his last two, he’s also consistently scored and has six points in his last nine. Terry keeps averaging more than three scoring opportunities a game. Yes, the opportunity will be there against the worst defense in the NHL in the Arizona Coyotes. Overall, Terry has 18 goals in 30 games and 29 points total.

Alex DeBrincat- DK $ 6.7 thousand || FD $ 7.1 thousand

Rivals – Nashville Predators

No, you don’t see the double and this could be a wild game between two teams that usually score a lot of goals when they meet. DeBrincat has five goals and eight points in the last nine games with 37 shots on target. Chicago will continue to score and their chances of getting three or more goals on Friday are pretty high.

Others to consider (Cash/GPP): Ovechkin (DK $9.6K || FD $10.0K), Connor (DK $7.6K || FD $9.3K), Marchessault (DK $4.3K || FD $6.8k), Nylander (DK $7.3K || FD $7.6k), Keller (DK $4.1K || FD $5.3K), Heinen (DK $2.8K || FD $4.2K)

NHL DFS Defensive

Alex Pietrangelo- DK $ 6.7 thousand || FD $7.0 thousand

Rivals – New York Rangers

There may not be any other player on the charts who can truly thrive like Alex Pietrangelo. He averages 2.6 shots and saves per game. Some would argue Adam Fox or even Seth Jones and they can be used. It is only Pietrangelo produced. He has ten points in his last ten games.

Seth Jones- 7.0K DK $ || FD $ 6.6 thousand

Rivals – Nashville Predators

Because we don’t have a lot of information about how Nashville will do with a lot of co-workers out. So let’s shoot some Chicago Blackhawks players on Saturday night. Everyone and their uncles were expecting Nashville to come out and be a great game against the Blackhawks. They can but the counter here is the way we go. That’s where Jones comes in… of course for the extensive junk-time DFS score.

Others to consider (Cash/GPP): Letang (DK $6.8k || FD $6.7k), Gostisbehere (DK $5.6k || FD $5.1k), Whitecloud (DK$3.3k || FD $4, 7 thousand).
