Jack Harrison is one of the many names on Newcastle United’s list of transfer targets this summer, but he will be harder to come by after Leeds United stayed in the Premier League on the final day of the season.

The 25-year-old has scored eight goals in each of Leeds’ two Premier League seasons since being promoted from the Championship in 2020 and has established himself impressively in the top flight.

He has attracted the attention of Newcastle, who are likely to make an offer for him via the summer transfer window, according to the Telegraph report.

Leeds secured Premier League survival on the final day of the season when they beat Brentford and scored Harrison which will put the Yorkshire side in a much stronger negotiating position.

The former New York City winger is under contract at Elland Road until 2024 and they won’t want to let him go, especially to a Premier League rival, but Newcastle will be able to offer Harrison a huge upgrade to his Leeds contract.

Despite the vast wealth of their owners, the Magpies are believed to be keeping their ambitions somewhat limited, targeting Harrison rather than global superstars for now.

But even without Newcastle willing to spend as much as possible they will be able to significantly increase the wages Harrison takes home from Elland Road and give the Yorkshire club a massive profit on the fee to bid around £11.5million which they paid Manchester City for the 25-year-old.
