Two teenage girls have been arrested and charged with a brutal assault on a New York City cab driver that ended in the man’s death.

The teenagers, aged 13 and 15, were not named by police. Another 16-year-old girl is still wanted for her role in the attack.

The pair were charged with gang assault and theft from the service.

The attack happened on August 13 after a group of three teenage girls and two boys in their early 20s took a $70 cab ride from the Bronx to the Rockaways in Queens.

When the driver dropped them off near Arverne’s playground at 6.20am, the children tried to rob him.

The attack was caught on surveillance footage from nearby businesses. Taxi driver Kutin Gyimah tried to catch up with the fleeing youths on the street.

The group pounced on 52-year-old Gyimah, punching and kicking him on the sidewalk.

After Gyimah got up, one of the boys punched him, causing him to fall on his back and hit his head on the sidewalk.

Gyimah was taken to St. Johns Hospital in Far Rockaway, where he was pronounced dead. He was the father of four children, all under the age of 10.

A GoFundMe set up to support the family had raised over $200,000 as of Wednesday afternoon.

Police say Austin Amos, 20, delivered the punch that caused Gyimah to fall and hit his head. He turned himself in to police on Thursday and was charged with manslaughter, gang assault and theft of services.

His friend Nickolas Porter, 20, is also charged with gang assault and theft.

Amos faces up to 25 years in prison and Porter up to 15 years.

“An entire family is now mourning the tragic and senseless loss of a loved one as a result of this despicable behavior,” said Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

Prosecutors have not said what charges the girls face.
