New York: Man surrenders after shooting relative at birthday party | US News

A man turned himself in after allegedly shooting dead a relative and injuring a woman at a birthday party.
Geoliver Tineo, 23, reportedly went to the birthday party at the home of Delvin Diaz, 33, in Brooklyn. An altercation broke out because Tineo, the nephew of Diaz’s sister-in-law, was not invited or had a guest who did not invite him, police told the New York Post.
Tineo is accused of shooting Diaz outside his home on Drew Street off Stanley Avenue on Saturday night. Diaz was hit several times, police officers said.
In addition, a 31-year-old woman was scraped on the head. It was not immediately known if Tineo was after her.
Diaz was transported to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he died from the wounds. The woman was also taken to the same hospital and is in stable condition.
Tineo turned himself in to police officers early Sunday, about four hours after the 9:30 p.m. ordeal.
He is charged with murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.
