New York: Man, 86, ‘murdered his 78-year-old wife’ in their home | US News
An 86-year-old man is said to have murdered his wife, who was found dead at their home.
Luz Porras, 78, was found Wednesday at the bottom of a staircase at her home in Queens, New York. She had signs of trauma on her face and was unconscious and unresponsive.
Her husband, Ovido Porras, was at their home on 91st Street at 91st Avenue in Woodhaven when police arrived just before 8:30 p.m.
Ovido was taken into custody for questioning and 24 hours later charged with murder, the New York Post reported Friday. He is also accused of falsification of evidence and criminal disregard.
It was not immediately known how Luz was murdered. Her body was presented to a medical examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.
