A mother who disappeared on Mother’s Day was found dead on a street.

Norelis Mendoza, 32, of Lindenwold, New Jersey, was reported missing by her family on Sunday.

She “left her mother’s home[in]Jersey City and expressed her love and said she would see her again soon,” according to a GoFundMe page set up for her. “That was the last time she was seen by a loved one.”

The body of a woman was found on Route 440 in Bayonne near the Jersey City border on Wednesday. The victim has been tentatively identified as Mendoza, WABC reported.

Medoza had a one-year-old and a three-year-old child.

She was last seen late Saturday.

Prosecutors and Hudson County police considered Mendoza’s death suspicious. The cause of death and manner of death had not been clarified as of Thursday.

Mendoza’s family told the TV station they believe she was a victim of domestic violence. They suspect that the father of their two children was involved in their disappearance and murder. Family members said the body was recovered near his home and that he has a restraining order and a violent past.

“This was a senseless act of violence and their girls were prevented from having their mother with them on this earth,” reads the GoFundMe page organized by Thalia Mendoaz.

“We are all more than devastated and suffering.

“Mother’s Day is a joyful time to celebrate and her girls and family will forever live through the pain of what happened on that day.”

Anyone with information about the death is asked to contact the public prosecutor’s office.

The GoFundMe page had raised more than $18,000 as of Thursday afternoon.
