THE body of a woman found at a waste facility early Thursday morning has been identified by the Amarillo Police Department.
Linda Michelle Mesza-Ray, 42, was found dead inside a garbage truck at the COA Solid Waste Collection Station in Texas.
How her body ended up inside the truck remains under investigation, said police.
According to investigators, Mesza-Ray’s body was inside the dumpster of the truck. It’s possible it was picked up for disposal.
Authorities are trying to determine where she was originally picked up from.
“We’re going back looking at the logs where this came from, talking with the driver and going to be looking if there is any video and we’ll go from there on what we can determine,” said Cpl Jeb Hilton.
So far, nothing has been ruled out by the police department as there are many possibilities in play at this time.
The woman could have been a victim of foul play or may have even been asleep while inside the dumpster.
Her body was transported from Amarillo to the medical examiner in Lubbock for an autopsy.
The Sun reached out to the Amarillo Police Department for comment.
Also in Texas, four people, including a child, were found dead in a possible murder-suicide in Houston.
Chief Gonzalez said a man shot his wife, their four-year-old daughter, and his mother-in-law before turning the semi-automatic pistol on himself. The family was of South Asian descent.
Gonzalez believes the mother was heading to work with her daughter when they ran into the man who had “hatred in his heart.”
The chief said the couple was going through a divorce, and the man did not live in the apartment but occasionally stopped by.
He claims the man was determined to “pull off” the horrific act as he showed up at the home with a firearm.
He reassured residents within the apartment complex that there was no active threat.
