Mysterious radio signals emanating from a distant galaxy have been detected and “defy the laws of physics,” scientists claim

A GALAXY 800 million light-years away has ejected a series of emissions that have been picked up by a low-frequency radio telescope in Australia.

The results have already influenced astronomers’ understanding of space.

Researchers have been observing the distant galaxy cluster Abell 3266 since its discovery in 2006.

A new study published in Oxford Academic describes new radio observations emanating from Abell 3266 across the universe.

“We and our international team of colleagues have identified a number of rarely observed radio objects — a radio relic, a radio halo, and fossil radio emissions,” study authors Christopher Riseley and Tessa Vernstrom wrote for The Conversation.

“They contradict existing theories about both the origin of such objects and their properties.”

Radio Relics are the product of massive bursts of energy energized by shock waves.

What surprised the researchers, however, was the concave shape of the observed radiorelic.

The study authors aptly dubbed what they found the “remnant of the wrong path.”

“Our data breaks our understanding of how relics are created, and we are still working to unravel the complex physics behind these radio objects,” Riseley and company wrote in the study.

“This reveals gaps in our understanding of how these sources are evolving – gaps that we are working to fill.”

The Murchison Widefield Array radio telescope also observed radiation from a burned-out black hole.

This radiation exists today as radiofossils, remnants of a great cosmic event that occurred millions of years ago, hundreds of millions of light-years away.

The researchers also found the first sighting of a radio halo in Abell 3266, although it has long been suspected to be a site where halos would form.

Abell 3266 represents a cluster of galaxies in the Universe that allows researchers to study space phenomena that are not locally visible.

Projects like the Abell 3266 study and the James Webb Space Telescope are working to make space less mysterious.
