My neighbor wants to sit in my garden with her dog, even though we live near a park – that annoys me

A WOMAN is furious when her neighbor insists on stopping by and sitting in her yard – even though they live right next to a park.

The all-too-familiar pet owner has taken to using the garden while real estate agents give buyers a tour of her home.

The woman went to Mumsnet to comment on the brazen neighbor and said she wasn’t sure how to stop the awkward intrusion.

She said the harassing local wants to sunbathe in her garden to avoid sightseeing while she sells her home, and even brings her pooch for company.

The neighbor keeps wanting to show up unannounced, even though they live next to a “huge green park”.

But the post divided opinion when people questioned how to handle the situation.

Despite being furious at the pesky locals, the Mumsnet user admitted she “wasn’t sure if I was being unreasonable or just grumpy”.

She wrote: “She wants to sit in our garden in the shade (hot in here today) with her dog for an hour while the real estate agent shows the house.

“We live near a huge, green park with benches.

“I’m not sure why that pissed me off since it doesn’t concern me, but why can’t she just sit in the park for an hour?”

She asked, “Am I being unreasonable?”

The difficult situation divided opinion as other users shared their thoughts.

Many found her unnecessarily awkward and said the woman should just let her neighbor use her garden.

One commented, “I don’t see the problem that she just wants to sit there with her dog.”

Another agreed: “I would definitely leave that to our neighbors but we consider them good friends and we see each other a lot.

“I mean, the neighborly thing would be to make her a cup of tea and sit out there and chat if it’s just an hour.

“I’m antisocial as hell and even I would do it!” added a third.

“That seems like a perfectly reasonable request, provided the dog doesn’t shit on your lawn!” wrote one critic.

However, some sided with the user and said the neighbor should mind her own space.

One commented: “She probably just wants to be around. If she does that every viewing, I’d start to get a little pissed off.”

“Can also understand why you would prefer she wouldn’t as it’s a bit awkward!” said another.

A voice of reason suggested speaking to the neighbor, even if it meant you might not be each other’s best friends afterwards.

“If for any reason you don’t want it, it’s easy to say no. However, I would never expect a favor when you need it,” they said.

While the two residents might not end up on each other’s Christmas card lists, the Mumsnet user is lucky she didn’t have this neighbor from hell – whose antics cost over £200,000 last month. My neighbor wants to sit in my garden with her dog, even though we live near a park – that annoys me
