However, the vast majority of hopefuls at least knew they were submitting an application.
As opposed to one woman who explained to followers on TikTok that she signed up to participate but only had a clue after submitting her form.
American Rylee Schindler said her mother suggested her for the popular show and impersonated her when filling out the questionnaire.
The 19-year-old musician said her mother didn’t warn her and didn’t ask for permission before submitting the form.
In the TikTok video, Rylee posted the message she received from her mother to confess her actions and urged her daughter to act natural when contacted by the casting director.
She said: “One of the questions was, ‘What do you want to get out of your Love Island experience?’ and your answer should be discovered so that you can continue your music career – if you happen to find your ‘persona’ that would be wonderful too .”

Rylee’s mother took it a step further by telling producers that her daughter is bisexual and a virgin.
She said, “Oh, I’m saying you were bisexual and a virgin and not ready to just hook up.”
She captioned the hilarious video, “When my mom accidentally signs me up to be on Love Island and mistakenly acts like me throughout the questionnaire without asking.”
TikTok has more than 43,000 views and other social media users quickly jumped in with their thoughts.
One person said: “I love your mom, we need a mom reveal. She is so supportive and sweet.”
Another said: “Why did she have to tell them the virgin part?”
While a third said: “That’s something my mum would do. And she would be so proud of her creative support method.”
