My mother in law cleaned my bathroom

ONE WOMAN was furious after her mother-in-law cleaned her bathroom and even emptied her bin while she was away on a hen party weekend.
The anonymous woman picked up Mumsnet’s Am I Being Unreasonable? forum to post about her situation, writing: “I was on a hen party over the weekend and my husband’s parents stopped by for dinner while I was gone.

“We keep our apartment very clean and tidy.
“Our main bathroom wasn’t dirty but could have used a light cleaning; probably some of my hair in the plug/around the shower, the closet was a bit dusty, the mirror needed polishing, a bit of limescale on the taps.
“I’ve just started a new job and an evening class, I’ve been very busy and didn’t have time to double check before I left.”
She added that while cleaning the bathroom, her mother-in-law would have emptied the bin – and seen things she actually didn’t want her to see.

“Anyway, MIL decided to deep clean the bathroom while she was here,” she continued the post.
“She emptied the bin that contained my used tampons/sanitary pads, possibly condoms.
“I’m not embarrassed or uncomfortable with periods/sex or anything like that, but it’s pretty personal.
“I’m a bit upset that she took it upon herself to clean my house, it’s not like it’s dirty and ended up in my trash can for no reason at all.”
There was a lot of disagreement in the comments to the post as to whether the mother-in-law was wrong to clean the bathroom.
“So she did something nice for you,” wrote one.
“I couldn’t get upset about it at all.”
“My mom does it all the time. I love it,” added another.
“My wife took the dirty laundry when we were gone one weekend (she came to feed the cats) and brought it back washed and ironed.
“What’s not to love!”
While someone else wrote, “My mom does this, I don’t like it either, it feels judgmental.”

“I hate it when people do that,” another person commented.
“Why they feel the need, I don’t know! If you wanted help, you would have asked.”
