It seems like the world of online dating is getting worse by the day.
Women are sharing their toxic experiences on dating apps across all social media platforms… and it’s quite shocking, to say the least.
A TikToker named Annabella Gofis posted a short 8-second clip of her recent experience with Hinge.
Compared to Tinder and Bumble, Hinge aims to be a better alternative dating app for people looking for real connections.
Unfortunately, Hinge seems to be doing just as badly – if not worse – than its competition lately.
Annabella revealed the first message she received from a man who clearly didn’t care to be kind or respectful to her.
He said: “You are beautiful but your girlfriend is so my type. Any chance she’s single?”
In other words, Annabella’s Hinge match just reached out to gain access to Annabella’s boyfriend.
Annabella jokingly added the caption, “It’s because I have beautiful friends I think.”
A woman in the comments section, who shared a similar experience, wrote: “I had this done by a guy once and after I told him my boyfriend was kidnapped he said ‘I think I’ll be with you then talk’ … how? No?”
Another woman, referring to the toxicity, wrote: “I’ve had a guy flirting with me literally for days. Then one day he accidentally tells me he thinks my boyfriend is beautiful… Boy, bye.”
A third woman dropped some advice, saying: “My sister taught me never to post pictures with friends just in case that happened.”
Several other women shared strikingly similar experiences they had while using Hinge and other dating apps in Annabella’s comments section.
Other women sure let Annabella know how beautiful she was by reminding her that she definitely didn’t deserve that kind of treatment.
In general, a woman should be able to post pictures with friends on her dating profile to show how social she is.
It is possible for Annabella to reconsider the pictures she uploads to her dating profile to avoid this problem in the future.
