A mother has reacted with unbridled joy after spotting Shrek’s face in her curry.

Lisa Edmonds, 56, sat down with husband Mark, 50, when she spotted the film character’s face in her food.

She said: “I called Mark and he said, ‘What? Our son Harrison, 14, didn’t really get it, but we thought it was hilarious.

She took a picture of the green hariyali curry she bought at her favorite curry house in Enfield.

Mum-of-one admits she almost couldn’t eat the ‘cute face’ but was too hungry to resist.

Lisa, a customer service manager, said: “It was the strangest thing. I tossed the curry on the plate and there was Shrek, clear as day.

“The curry is also light green, so it suited him perfectly. I had to do a double take when I saw his green face staring at me – it was so funny.”

She ordered north Indian style chicken curry along with some pilau rice, saag aloo and Bombay potatoes.

When the order arrived, which cost around £25, she downed the contents of her plate’s pot and burst into fits of giggles.

She said: “The sauce started dripping off the side and I thought it looked like his ear. The chicken was perfectly positioned and formed its nose.

“I get this order all the time and this has never happened before. The face was so cute I almost couldn’t eat it.

“But I was so hungry that I had to eat it as soon as I took the picture. It’s just a little bit of fun and I hope it makes people laugh.”
