When Agent Scott arrived, he learned that 6 people had been killed (including 2 US Marshalls). The Justice Department involved the FBI fugitive squad. The crime scene was at Trofim Sarkov (portrayed by Rudolf Martin). A valuable painting was also missing. Remy became suspicious of Aleksander Pavlishchev (portrayed by Kristof Konrad), the Russian consulate director who was assigned to oversee the confiscation process, but he left.
FBI Art Crimes Liaison Agent Brad May (portrayed by Bhavesh Patel) asked to accompany Remy to his interview with Pavlishchev, so he did. Pavlishchev claimed to have no knowledge of who committed the killings. They asked why he left when the police showed up. He explained that his surveillance part was discontinued, therefore he did not consider his presence necessary during the investigation.
Pavlishchev has spoken to the agents on behalf of the US government about sanctions and incompetence. Remy wanted to know Who remembers the seizure meeting, but he was intrusive on what is technically Russian soil. So Pavlishchev led him out…
