More than 200 vehicles involved are jammed on a bridge in central China

Beijing: Dozens of vehicles collided with a large pile of cars on a bridge in the central Chinese city of Zhengzhou, Henan province, due to extremely foggy conditions, state media CCTV reported.
Several cars and trucks are seen crumpled and stacked on top of each other on the Zhengxin Huanghe Bridge in pictures and videos shared on social media. A car was dramatically crushed in the middle of a pile-up in a snapshot of CCTV footage.

Many people were injured and trapped at the scene of the accident, and firefighters were on the bridge, according to CCTV.
According to preliminary estimates by rescue workers at the scene, more than 200 vehicles were involved in the pile-up and the injured were taken to hospital for treatment, according to local TV.
One person was killed in the incident and many others were trapped in their vehicles.
According to the local weather service, visibility was less than 500 meters in several areas including Zhengzhou this morning and 200 meters in some areas.
According to state media, the local fire department immediately dispatched 11 fire engines and 66 firefighters to the scene.
Several collisions occurred in the north-south and south-north directions near the center line of the Zhengxin-Huanghe Bridge, CCTV reported.
