More storms are expected in the St. Louis area this weekend

ST. LOUIS – Two more rounds of thunderstorms are expected to hit the St. Louis area this weekend as a slow-moving cold front will not leave the region until late Saturday.

A few showers will gather in the northwest on Friday evening. Then, after midnight, a stronger storm line will likely develop and move east. A few might be strong enough to create some hail. Heavy rains could also cause flooding in some areas.

The peak time for these storms is between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., west to east, with temperatures near 60 early Saturday morning.

This morning it will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. We will watch for stronger storms developing along the front mid to late Saturday afternoon.

Once again, these storms could bring hail, heavy rain, and strong winds. The front was to advance east of St. Louis. So these storms are more likely to occur along and east of the Mississippi.

Saturday highs vary. Further west, behind the front heights of the 1960s. Up front the temps will push into the 70s.
