Missouri passes new voter ID law

ST. LOUIS — The state of Missouri is offering help to those who need a free state-issued ID after passing a new voter identification law.
Voters requesting a government-issued photo ID may contact the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Bureau of Vital Records. The state offers a free birth certificate. This is only to get a free government issued ID if they don’t already have one. groups like that St. Louis Area Voter Protection Coalition opposed the new ID requirements, calling them “dangerous voter subversion.”
This bill awaits Gov. Mike Parson’s signature. If he does not sign it, the bill will come into force on Sunday, August 28th.
