Mississippi: Pastor ‘shoots wife and then himself’ in front of three children | US News

A pastor is said to have shot his wife and then himself after posting on Facebook that he “may not be a perfect man” but is a “family man”.
Louisiana pastor Danny Prenell Jr., 25, is accused of shooting his wife Gabrielle Prenell, 27, dead in front of their children at a Hampton Inn hotel, McComb Police Chief Juan Cloy said. Then he turned the gun on himself.
According to Cloy, the shooting happened around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Two days earlier, Danny had posted a photo of the couple with their three young children on a Facebook page he apparently shared with his wife. He marked the location as the Hampton Inn & Suites McComb in Mississippi where the shooting took place.
“I may not be a perfect man but I will always be a family man,” the post read, along with the hashtags #HusbandFatherPastor and #FlawedYetFavored.
Danny and his wife were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, WLBT reported. Their terms were not disclosed.
According to WAPT, the pastor faces charges of serious bodily harm.
Your children are under the care of the child protection service.
A photo published by The Enterprise-Journal showed police cordons blocking a hallway at the hotel. There were blood spatters behind the duct tape, a pillow and towels scattered on the floor.
The motive for the shooting was initially unknown.
Danny, a pastor at Bright Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, often posted on Facebook about self-development.
“At 25, I’m often heard saying I’m way past my years.” However, I’m never satisfied with where I am … I’m constantly looking for more,” he wrote on April 16.
“People of small minds hold on to what fits in their heads.” The God I serve knows no bounds, and I remain faithful knowing my cup will overflow.”
And the week before that, Danny published a post celebrating his wife’s birthday, calling her “my queen” and “the woman I love and owe my life to.”
