WE HAVE all had those heated debates about our favorite foods.
Should tea be very milky? Do you put ketchup in the fridge? Are Nice ‘n’ Spicy Nik Naks the best of all chips? The answer to all three is yes, by the way.
But now food fans are furious when they argue about whether mini cheddars are crunchy, biscuit, cracker or maybe too individual for a category.
The important conversation has garnered widespread interest on Reddit, where it garnered more than 2,000 comments from wayward gluttons.
The cheesy morsels were launched more than 30 years ago and controversy over their true nature has raged ever since.
Sadly for those caught up in the discussion, the creators don’t even explain Jacobs on their website, instead simply referring to it as a “baked snack.” Helpful.
One person decided it was time to end the conversation once and for all.
On Reddit, they said, “It’s time to settle some scores… are mini cheddars chips?”

Many people came in to give their opinions. One said: “No, these are crackers that belong in the Knusper Gang. Like Jaffa Cakes are cakes that belong in the cookie gang.”
Another said: “I will fight anyone who thinks these are chips.”
A third said: “So if I asked you to go to the store to buy some cookies and you asked what kind and I said ‘mini cheddars’ would you be ok with that? ”
Another said: “I trust the judgment of the local landlord. ‘Can I get you chips, nuts or mini cheddars?’ They’re obviously in a class by themselves.”
And another person said, “Cheese cookies.”
While someone brought up this interesting piece of information: “The big ones are in the cookie gang, the little ones are in the chip gang. The debate continues.”
While another said: “I’m mad at myself for not knowing the answer.”
So… that doesn’t solve anything. Now back to that Jaffa cake thing – what do we think, cake or biscuit?
