Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party Starring Dolly Parton: How to Watch
Cheers to 2023! Miley Cyrus returns for her second year Miley’s New Years Eve Party Special to celebrate the end of 2022.
That Hannah Montana Alum officially announced the show on Monday, November 21st. “Miley’s New Year’s Eve party is about going glam and dressing at your best,” she said in a promotional video released by NBC.
Cyrus sat at a table adorned with champagne glasses while black and gold streamers hung from the ceiling. Beside her was the incoming cohost Dolly Parton.
“Well, we do that every day. the country music icon teased, to which the Tennessee native replied, “You taught me well.”
As Parton, who is he last song The actress’ godmother, who exclaimed that the New Year’s Eve special was going to be “legendary,” chimed in with Cyrus, “She would know.”
In a press release issued on the same day, NBCUniversal exec Jen Neal gushed about the return of the holiday celebration. “The first Miley’s New Year’s Eve party was an unqualified success and we know this year’s show will be just as spectacular, full of surprises and lots of fun,” said Neal. “We can’t wait to get the party started.”
Cyrus joined last year Peter Davidson for her very first NYE broadcast. The couple waited for midnight at a live event filmed in Miami.
“I wanted to do something traditional, but I knew we were going to do it in a unique and unconventional way, and we did that by starting by going to Miami,” the “Malibu” singer said during an interview with The December 2021 next The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. “[Pete] will be fun and I will be naked and together we will have a show.”
At the time, Cyrus highlighted her favorite part of celebrating the start of a new year. “I think one of the things to focus on on New Year’s Eve is what’s to come, being optimistic and hopeful about all of these things that haven’t happened yet and that we have no proof of happening be,” she explained. “We kind of erase everything that happened and we forget to honor it and also look back.”
The dynamic duo ushered in 2022 with plenty of famous friends — but not everything went perfectly according to plan. Cyrus suffered a wardrobe malfunction during the live show and was laughing about it like a pro days later.
