Hollywood legend Mickey Rourke has branded Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard a “gold digger” in an interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

The American actor and former boxer appeared on Morgan’s TalkTV show Monday night, where he spoke about abort culture and the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The 57-year-old also admitted to knowing Pirates of the Caribbean star Depp “for many years” but not “intimately”, explaining that he’s been in a similar “situation”.

Rourke told Morgan, “Well, you know, I’ve known Johnny for many years, but I don’t really know him personally.

“All I can say is that I was once in a situation where I was blamed for something I didn’t do. It cost me several years of film jobs and caused a bad reputation.

“And eventually the truth came out, but the truth came out after I lost movies and jobs and that’s why I felt bad for someone trying to get knocked out by a gold digger, you know.”

Sharing his thoughts on Top Gun: Maverick star Cruise making the action sequel, he said: “I have no respect for that…I don’t care about money or power. When I watch Al Pacino at work, I’m drawn to the early work of Chris Walken and De Niro, the work of Richard Harris, and the work of Ray Winstone.

“That’s the kind of actor I want to be… Brando back then. The kind of guys trying to stretch themselves as actors.

When asked by Morgan if he thought Cruise was a “good actor,” Rourke replied, “I think he’s irrelevant in my world.”

Piers Morgan Uncensored airs weekdays at 8 p.m. on TalkTV.
