MIAMI-DADE FLA. – A tribute ceremony will be held at Loan Depot Park on August 24 for fallen MIami-Dade Police Detective Cesar “Echy” Echaverry.
The morning begins at the Vior Funeral Home where Echaverry’s body is carried by a full procession at 9:30am and then makes its way to the stadium.
Family and invited guests will hold a viewing in front of the general public.
The funeral of the 29-year-old detective will be held at the venue at 10am on Wednesday and the event is open to the public.
The Miami-Dade Police Department encourages the public to support their fallen officer.
Once the ceremony is over, Echaverry will be driven to Miami Executive Airport (KTMB) and then flown to Nicaragua where he will be buried.
He was shot in the head while pursuing a suspected armed robbery in Liberty City last week and died of his injuries two days later.
Echaverry, a police officer for five years, was a member of the Miami-Dade Police Department and was engaged to be married.
The ceremony at Loan Depot Park is expected to last several hours and will be open to the public. Parking is available at Magic City Casino.
