Mesut Ozil plans a surprise career change as he continues to struggle at Fenerbahce after his disappointment and controversy arsenal Exit.

Özil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013 for around £42.5million and was a fantastic player at the Emirates for a time – winning three FA Cups during his time at the club.

However, everything went wrong in the latter part of his stay in north London as he eventually left for Turkish club Fenerbahce where he failed to make an impact and was frozen again.

The 33-year-old world champion has played 92 international matches for Germany, but is now venturing into a career change in eSports and one day wants to play the video game Fortnite professionally.

“He will get more into eSports, play games himself and maybe become an eSports athlete,” said Özil’s agent Dr. Erkut Sogut to The Telegraph.

“He’s really good at Fortnite to be honest and I think one day I wouldn’t be surprised if he started competing.

“He owns a team – M10 Esports – and he has players. He has a casino in Germany. He has football, like FIFA and Fortnite.’

Earlier this month, new Fenerbahce boss Jorge Jesus proposed a move for the former Arsenal midfielder had no future at the club following his recent appointment.

Özil has not played for the Turkey side since March following a fitness row with interim head coach Ismail Kartal – with Jesus having hinted he will continue the German’s exile next season.

Hull City owner Acun Ilicali has dismissed speculation linking the championship club to a move to Ozil back in April, although Major League Soccer club Inter Miami are said to be interested.

Legendary ex-England captain David Beckham founded Miami in 2018, with the side currently managed by Phil Neville and boasting former Premier League stars Gonzalo Higuain, Kieran Gibbs and DeAndre Yedlin.
