Melania was nowhere to be seen for a post-arrest Donald

One can only imagine the relief Melania Trump felt when Donald Trump left the White House. Yes, this is gossip stuff, and I totally read into it all (especially while posting a photo ^^ of a rare Melania smile), but she looked so happy as she left DC for Biden’s inauguration. And when the official Trump plane touched down at Mar-a-Lago, she brushed right past Donald as he tried to snag a photo op with his wife.

The mood there was that Melania was “clocked out” from the service (to be less diplomatic, it seemed like she hadn’t given a shit), and she’s rarely been seen or heard from since that time. Mrs. Trump reportedly lives a largely Donald-free life while only occasionally showing up for social engagements.

Before Donald’s arrest (on charges related to his dealings with Stormy Daniel), reports indicated that Ivanka had sneaked into Mar-a-Lago to visit her father, but Melania stayed pretty calm. She wasn’t traveling to New York City with her husband, and that Palm Beach Post now reports that she didn’t show up during his “disgusting” evening speech, and Trump reportedly didn’t mention Melania at all while praising “my family.” Unpleasant:

[Melania] was not mentioned in a minute-long segment of the speech in which Trump spoke poignantly and affectionately about his family. Here’s what he said to loud cheers and a moved silence:

“I have built a great business with my family. Built a fantastic business. I have a son here who has done a great job. And I have another son here who has done a great job. And Tiffany. And Ivanka. And Barron will be great one day. He’s tall, he’s tall and he’s smart, but I have a great family and they’ve done a fantastic job and we really appreciate that.”

Though considering Trump started his Barron discussion with “he’s tall, he’s tall,” Melania should perhaps count her blessings for not being mentioned here. Hopefully she got a spa treatment and lived some form of the best life. She’s probably been through a lot.
