Medford teachers gather outside mayor’s office seeking treaty ratification – Boston News, Weather, Sports

MEDFORD, MASS. (WHDH) – Medford teachers gathered outside the mayor’s office Monday to share their confidence concerns.
A large majority, 94%, of the Medford Teachers Association did not vote for the mayor and school committee to have their contract ratified.
Teachers there said they had been without a contract for more than a year and a half.
“I ask you, how can we trust a mayor and a school committee that have not spoken directly to the city’s educators to help end the crisis?” Charlene Douglas, president of the Medford Teachers Association, said.
Both negotiating teams are meeting on Wednesday afternoon to try to reach an agreement.
