McDonald’s employees rave about managers who keep customers happy

Video of a McDonald’s employee going viral on TikTok after she shared how it feels when her manager caves in to a customer’s demand.
The five-second clip was uploaded by TikTok user Kayley (@username74928263), in which she shared how she felt when a manager gave clients what they wanted despite violating company procedures.
“No boss I still love my job just when I said no to a client about the procedures and you tell him yes and give him what he wanted even though he didn’t pay for it I looked kind of stupid but it’s cool,” she wrote on the text overlay.
“Cmon babe,” she added in the caption, accompanied by a McDonald’s hashtag.

The Daily Dot reached out to Kayley via TikTok comment for more information. The video was viewed 1.3 million times as of Monday, with viewers sharing what they would have done in the situation.
“I always tell them they have to go back and pay there or show a receipt, the managers never intervened,” revealed one viewer.
“That’s why I always ask a manager or lead, even if I already know the answer, sometimes they just do things differently to avoid conflict,” wrote a second.
“That’s why I always ask a manager first, even if I know the answer. That way, if they say no, I can say ‘my manager said no,'” repeated a third.
Some offered suggestions as to what to do in that position.
“If your manager is like that, to make yourself feel better about the situation, you can say, ‘Okay, I’m going to ask my manager if we can make an assumption [sic] 4u,” one user suggested.
“Lifehack if your manager keeps doing this. Just stop saying no to customers, just grab your manager right now and let him take care of it,” suggested a second.
Others shared their experiences when managers have done so.
“It was the WORST during Covid we had restrictions on lunch, meat, TP bacon etc and if anyone complained enough the manager would give them anything!!” wrote one viewer.
“The manager at my new job told me to just give the customer what they want and I just did. explodes him with my brain,” said another.
