McDonald’s customer complaint about late shift workers

A popular content creator went viral on TikTok after posting a skit about how he thinks McDonald’s employees are after 10pm.
The video was uploaded by Tanner (@tannertan36) who has nearly 800,000 followers. In the clip, he pretends to be a customer by using a green screen to pretend to be at McDonald’s.
When Tanner asks for an Oreo McFlurry, the “worker” tells him the machine isn’t working. This leads to Tanner asking the worker, “When are you going to fix this?”
“Are you taking a girl home? It’s been a while,” replies the worker. The video ends with Tanner staring blankly at the camera.
“The night staff don’t care,” Tanner explains in the video’s caption.
The Daily Dot contacted Tanner via email, TikTok comment and direct message regarding the video. His video was viewed over 882,000 times as of March 17. Although Tanner’s video is a skit, it resonated with other customers who often frequent McDonald’s late at night. Many shared their own late-night McDonald’s experiences.
“The night staff really don’t care. They cursed my ass once after I asked if I could have a mango pineapple smoothie,” one person shared.
“OMG I went on a Mcflurry last night and the girl was so rude.
“I went to McDonald’s around 8pm a few weeks ago and I got into a physical argument about whether or not I ordered a shamrock shake,” shared a third.
However, some sympathized with the McDonald’s employees who work late shifts, citing their working conditions. “Yes, because they are about to close and want to go home after a long day at work,” one noted.
