Mass. high school students accused of insulting players on opposing team – Boston News, Weather, Sports

FRANKLIN, MASS. (WHDH) – Principals say they are investigating irregular behavior at a high school baseball game between Franklin and Sharon.

Franklin Public Schools says a group of children began using racist, homophobic and anti-Semitic abuse at players on the opposing Sharon High School team Thursday night.

The school says the group hung out on a fence near the outfield and no players from the team were involved.

“We condemn such behavior and are outraged. Our hearts go out to the Sharon community. There is no place for such behavior in our schools or at school events. This behavior is highly at odds with our core values and the inclusive culture we are committed to creating at Franklin High School,” principal Joshua Hanna wrote in a statement.

Principal Hanna also says the school has contacted the Franklin Police Department about the incident and is working to find the students responsible so they can determine the consequences.
