A controversial US lawmaker placed a $100,000 bid for the used cherry pepper of a leader of her political party.

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spent a six-figure sum Tuesday on House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s lip balm, her spokesman told Politico.

“I am honored to be able to donate $100,000 to the (National Republican Congressional Committee) to help Republicans increase our majority in 2024 and defeat the Democrats,” Greene said.

“My constituents will be honored to welcome Speaker Kevin McCarthy to a visit that we all believe is doing a great job.”
