Marcus Morris was kicked out for hitting Draymond in the head

The second quarter between the Warriors and the Clippers in Los Angeles got a bit lively and involved the two players from the teams you’d expect Draymond Green and Marcus Morris to have earned a time-out within a minute.

First, it was Green who canceled his 16th technical foul of the season after throwing the ball away at Russell Westbrook, seemingly in frustration, after Westbrook crashed into him while boxing out.

Green then flashed the refs for calling it out, but seems unlikely to have that taken away from him and will have to miss the Warriors’ next game against the Hawks to serve a mandatory one-game suspension because he’s 16 Ts achieved in one season.

On the next possession, Green and Morris tangled while boxing, with Morris swinging his left arm at Green and hitting him in the head, knocking Green to the ground. This led to a bit of a mess and a review to see if the foul needed to be upgraded to flagrant.

Morris’ flare-up and the fact that he hit Green in the head caused officials not only to raise it to a flagrant, but to give him a flagrant 2, meaning his night was over. The initial look didn’t seem as dramatic as a blatant 2, but it certainly lands and for hitting Green in the head it’s been a focus for officials in recent years and earned him a sack – Morris’s story probably did . It also doesn’t help him when it comes to determining intent.
