Manchester United target Arnaut Danjuma reveals Liverpool are interested in him | Soccer
Arnaut Danjuma has sensationally revealed Liverpool have shown an interest in signing him, while reports suggest the same Manchester United are keen on the Villarreal winger.
The Netherlands international has been impressive through and through since joining the Spanish side from Bournemouth in 2021 after spending the previous season in the Championship with the Cherries.
Injuries have limited him to just 23 La Liga games this season, but he has scored 10 goals in those 23 games and scored six more in his 11 Champions League appearances as Villarreal went on a shock run to the semi-finals.
The side that ended Villarreal’s run in Europe was Liverpool and Danjuma believes the Reds hold him in high esteem and have been following his progress.
The 25-year-old also says he would be interested in moving to a bigger club and criticizes any player who isn’t,” said Danjuma Ziggo sports.
“I’ve been told Liverpool are following me closely.
“I never had any contact with clubs or anything like that during the season – I always know about the situation after the season.
“I will never lie and I think it’s a bad trait not to be ambitious.
“If a club came that offered me a higher sporting platform, I would always have to consider that.”
The winger reportedly has a €45million (£38million) release clause in his contract with Villarreal, which has also caught the attention of Manchester United, according to MEN.
Danjuma’s football journey was unique. Born in Nigeria, he moved to the Netherlands as a child and joined PSV before NEC. He then played for Club Brugge before moving to Bournemouth in 2019 and Villarreal last year.
