So says former Italy skipper Fabio Cannavaro, who says he wants to see the ‘real’ Pogba again when he returns to Turin.
Pogba is expected to sign a three-year deal with the old lady when his contract with United expires at the end of the month, which will see him return to the club following his departure in 2016.
The Frenchman was a huge success during his first stint in Italy, winning five Serie A titles and helping the club reach the 2015 Champions League final.
But he failed to replicate that form for much of his six years at Old Trafford and Cannavaro believes he must reclaim his former self or he will be “of no use” to the club.
“Pogba to Juventus? I hope to see the real Paul again, the one from the start Juventus experience,” Cannavaro told Tuttomercatoweb.
“He has to find the reasons. The midfielder of recent seasons is of no use to either Juventus or France.”
Erik ten Hag didn’t speak to Pogba ahead of his departure but he was made aware of the midfielder’s desire to leave and felt it would have been wrong for the club to offer him a new contract.
The Dutchman is targeting Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong this summer, as well as a forward and a centre-back.
