Manchester United in talks with Ajax winger Antony over £51m move to Old Trafford | Soccer

Manchester United are negotiating a £51m move with Ajax star Antony.
Antony has been persistently linked with a move to United after starring under Erik ten Hag at Ajax last season.
Goal Brasil now report that the Premier League side are making serious progress in making the 22-year-old their first signing of the summer and the first of the new era at Old Trafford.
The report claims Antony’s representatives have come to Europe with the intention of “speeding up” or “closing” a deal with United.
The winger’s future is expected to be decided in a deal worth around €60m in the coming days.
Antony finished last year’s Eredivisie season with 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 league games, missing the last seven games of the season with an ankle injury.
United are also hoping to sign another member of that Ajax side in Jurrien Timber – although latest reports from the Netherlands suggest the 20-year-old could stay in the Netherlands for another season.
Frenkie de Jong, who played under ten Hag at Ajax, is another sought-after Premier League player. United are close to agreeing a €80m fee with Barcelona but it remains to be seen if the 25-year-old can be persuaded to leave the Camp Nou.
Ten Hag are keen to bring in a versatile forward option in 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, the team’s only consistent goalscorer last season.
Benfica striker Darwin Nunez is a target but the 22-year-old has now agreed personal terms with rivals Liverpool.
