Manchester: Houseboat weighed down with Carling cans sinks

A houseboat loaded with beer bottles and Carling cans sank in Salford, Greater Manchester.
Firefighters used an underwater camera to examine the interior of the boat and discovered a range of alcoholic beverages.
They also noted that no one had been inside at the time of the sinking.
Rescue services made their way to the water at the Dutton Arms Pub on the Bridgewater Canal in Eccles on Friday afternoon.
Police reportedly smashed one of the windows to make sure no one was inside.
A case of Carling lager, a pair of old sneakers, and beer bottles were scattered around the houseboat.
A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 12.30pm on Friday afternoon (27 January) two fire engines from Salford Central Fire Station along with the Technical Rescue Unit from Ashton and the Water Incident Unit from Eccles were closed Reports of a submerged boat in the Bridgewater Canal, Eccles.
“Crews arrived at the scene quickly. The fire brigade used an underwater camera, Tirfor and water rescue equipment to search the houseboat.”
