Manchester: Family memorializes ‘beautiful’ boy, 17, stabbed to death

A 17-year-old boy fatally stabbed in Manchester has been named.
Kyle Hackland was hospitalized after an incident in Southlea Road, Withington, just after 11.30am on Tuesday.
He died a short time later.
Kyle’s devastated parents have now paid tribute to their “beautiful” and “caring” son.
In a statement released by police, his family said: “We are devastated by the death of our beloved Kyle.
“He was such a nice and well-mannered boy who always looked out for his family – he never failed to say ‘I love you’ as he walked out the door.
“There are no words that can even begin to describe the pain we feel. We’ve always been such a close family and it shook us all.
“He will be missed forever as a beautiful son, as well as a caring and supportive big brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. Life will never be the same without him, we are completely broken.”
Police said they do not believe the attack was accidental and their investigations suggest there is no threat to the general public.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) imposed Section 60 restrictions until 5pm on Wednesday, giving them the power to stop and search anyone in the area of the fatal attack.
A spokesman for the force said: “Kyle Hackland, aged 17, sadly died in hospital from complications from his injuries after being fatally stabbed on Tuesday 22 November 2022 at around 11.30am on Southlea Road in Withington.”
