Man Utd now heavy favorites to sign Lisandro Martinez ahead of Arsenal | Soccer

Mikel Arteta had identified the Argentina international as an ideal candidate to rival Gabriel Magalhaes on the left flank of Arsenal’s centre-back.
Lopez would also have offered cover for injury-prone left-back Kieran Tierney, who missed the run-in last season after suffering a knee injury.
Arsenal transfer boss Edu has made three offers for the 24-year-old but the Gunners are yet to agree on a fee.
This indecisiveness has given United an opportunity to get ahead of their Premier League rivals and according to the MEN, the Red Devils haven’t offered the versatile defender £37m.
The Athletic, meanwhile, report that Martinez is keen to reunite with Erik ten Hag, who coached the player during their time together at Ajax.
United have gotten off to a slow start in their summer transfer deals but are expected to make rapid progress over the next fortnight.
A deal for Frenkie de Jong is close to successful conclusion, although the Netherlands international has reservations about a move to Old Trafford.
United are also close to finalizing the transfer of Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia, with the 22-year-old reportedly on a four-year deal worth €17million.
Ten Hag is also keen to raid his former club for Brazilian winger Antony, while United are also awaiting Christian Eriksen’s decision on his future.
The Denmark international is considering a rival offer from Brentford but his former club Tottenham have dampened his interest.
