Man Utd & Man City icon Carlos Tevez appointed manager of Rosario Central | Soccer

This marks the start of Tevez’s coaching career after he announced his retirement from football in early June.
The 38-year-old has signed a one-year deal with Rosario, who are currently their 22nd clubof 28 teams in Argentina’s Primera Division after four games.
On his appointment, Tevez said: “I am very excited about the project I am putting together with my brothers and Chapa Retegui [his former international teammate who will be joining his coaching staff].
“We’ve been working together for four or five months and we’re putting together a really good global project. I really like it.
“I’m going to be a coach; I made the decision that I will manage. I was excited, I’m very addicted. I’m ready to manage now.’
Tevez is best remembered for his playing career in England, where after a single season at West Ham he spent two years at Old Trafford and won two league titles and the Champions League in 2008.
He then made the controversial move to Etihad, where he scored a remarkable 73 goals in 148 games, won the Golden Boot in 2011 and helped City to their first Premier League triumph in 2012.
At international level, he won Olympic gold with Argentina in 2004 but failed to win a major trophy, finishing runners-up at the Copa America three times.
After leaving England, Tevez found further success at Juventus, Boca Juniors and Shanghai Shenua before returning to Boca, his boyhood club, where he ended his career.
Tevez was without a club for the last year and as he hung up his boots he revealed his retirement was motivated by the death of his adoptive father Segundo Raimundo in February 2021 following complications from COVID-19.
“I resigned, that’s confirmed,” Tevez told Mundo Albiceleste.
“They offered me many things, including from the United States. But that’s it, I gave it my all.
“Playing last year was very difficult but I could see my old man. I stopped playing because I lost my biggest fan.
