Man Utd blamed Arsenal hero Kevin Campbell for poor form of Paul Pogba

Kevin Campbell believes Manchester United’s demise was the reason behind Paul Pogba’s poor form at the club.
Pogba, 29, has struggled with consistency since returning to United in 2016 and was booed by home fans at Old Trafford after last Saturday’s win over Norwich City in the Premier League.
The Frenchman’s contract expires in the summer and he will leave Manchester with no prospect of a new deal.
However, Campbell – the former Arsenal striker – believes Pogba’s career at United would have been more successful if the club had been better run and they had competed for the highest honours.
Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “Pogba is being made a scapegoat, of course he is. People are giving out sticks for all sorts of reasons. The fact is, Manchester United haven’t been themselves for years.
“The club that Pogba thought he joined no longer exists. People don’t tell you that, but that’s the truth. The Man United people remember is not there.
‘Your season has gone from bad to worse. When people want to boo, boo. The reality is he is a quality player who should never leave United because they should be challenging up there. His contract has expired because the club is not managed properly.
“Are you telling me that a world-class midfielder isn’t performing for you? Something is wrong.’
In his six years at United, Pogba’s performances have gradually declined under three different managers.
After winning the Europa League and League Cup in his debut season, the midfielder’s last three league campaigns have yielded just five goals as his relationship with fans has soured.
This season, United face a struggle for a place in the top four after a difficult season and are almost five years without a trophy.
Last month, Pogba spoke about his disappointing spell at Old Trafford and outlined his future ambitions.
He said: “You have to be honest, the last five seasons haven’t satisfied me – really not at all.
“This year it’s dead, we won’t win anything. Whether it’s at Manchester United or at any other club, I want to win trophies.’
