Man shot, killed in Jennings Thursday night

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Jennings Thursday night.

The shooting occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the 5600 block of Janet Avenue. Police said the man was sitting outside with a group of people when an unidentified suspect opened fire from a vehicle and began beating the victim. The suspect then fled the scene.

The wounded was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Nobody else was hurt.

According to police, the victim is said to be in his late 20s.
