A knife-wielding man has been shot dead at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.

Police were called to the scene near Terminal 2F of the airport this morning.

Officials “neutralized” the threat, the force said on Twitter.

French radio station RTL reports that the man “showed signs of aggression”.

The channel added: “He refused to obey orders from the police and then allegedly ran towards the police.

“A police officer then opened fire on the attacker, who was quickly treated by the emergency services. The man reportedly succumbed to his injuries.’

“This morning officers at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport neutralized a threatening person with a knife,” the Paris police department wrote on Twitter.
