Man at large since January 20 turns himself in, $150,000 bond in cash only

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Authorities confirm 48-year-old Julian Jones Sr. is jailed on $150,000 bail Sunday morning.

Jones had been the subject of a search after major charges were brought against him on January 20. St. Louis County Police said Jones turned himself in and was taken into custody at the St. Louis County Justice Center on Saturday, Jan. 28 without incident.

Jones was charged with second-degree statutory rape. Investigators said Jones had sex with a girl under the age of 17.

Authorities told FOX 2 that the victim became pregnant and gave birth to a child as a result of the encounter. Investigators took DNA from the victim and Jones, and paternity tests show Jones is the father.

Jones has been seen on at least one major billboard along I-270 in North County while authorities searched for him. Police said he had ties to St. Louis and O’Fallon, Illinois during the search for Jones.

The Crimes Against Persons investigators of the St. Louis County Police Department are conducting this investigation. You are urged to call the police if you have any leads.
