Man arrested for allegedly using a crowbar to break into a Miami Beach building

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man has been arrested in Miami Beach after allegedly breaking into a building and then running from police.

It happened Saturday at a building at 600 15th Street in Miami Beach.

According to police, 20-year-old Allan Mauricio Anariva-Avila was seen by a witness breaking into the building with a crowbar.

The witness had a photograph of Anariva-Avila which was provided to responding officers, police said.

Officers spotted the suspect taking off over a fence behind the building.

A perimeter was established and Anariva-Avila was located with the help of a K-9 officer.

After his arrest, Anariva-Avila eventually confessed to the crime, according to his arrest report.

He appeared before a detention court on Sunday and faces multiple criminal charges.
