Man accused of killing wife in east Sydney

A 74-year-old man was charged with murder Thursday night after an alleged incident of domestic violence in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 6pm on Bronte Road in Bronte due to concerns for the well-being of a woman at the property.

Officers arrived to find a 74-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries. She was treated at the scene by NSW paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital but died shortly thereafter.

Police believe the couple were married.

The man was arrested at the scene and taken to Waverley Police Station. He is now charged with murder.

He was denied bail and will appear in Waverley Local Court on Friday.
