Man accused of hitting his 7-year-old son waives court appearance – Boston News, Weather, Sports

MANCHESTER, NH (WHDH) – The man who allegedly beat his 7-year-old son nearly to death has declined to appear in court.
Murtadah Mohammad, 25, was due to face charges of assault, falsification of evidence and endangering the welfare of a child in Manchester District Court on Friday.
The boy’s mother, Rainah Riley, says her son Jaevion is in a coma fighting for his life after suffering a fractured skull, broken ribs, a serious brain injury and second-degree burns to much of his body while in custody of his father.
Mohammad was arrested by police two days after responding to a call for a child who was severely burned and not breathing on Eastern Avenue and found Jaevion with serious injuries.
The little boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment before being transferred to another hospital for “further care”. Authorities said medical staff later determined the boy suffered other injuries in addition to the burns and had to resuscitate him twice.
“For a grown adult to see this in a little helpless little 7 year old boy who has never done anything and would never do anything to deserve any form of corporal punishment would be disgusting to see this be disgusting. ‘ Riley said.
Riley is now demanding answers from the state and says she has raised many red flags against Mohammad.
While the investigation into the attack continues, Manchester PD officials are asking that anyone who may have information about the incident contact the department at 603-668-8711 or the Manchester Crimeline at 603-624-4040.
