Man accused of conspiracy to murder Kavanaugh was convinced by sister to call 911, police say – Boston News, Weather, Sports

(CNN) – The man charged last week with the attempted murder of the judiciary Brett Kavanaugh was convinced by his sister to call 911 for himself while standing near the judge’s Maryland home, law enforcement officials said Tuesday.
In a statement, Marcus Jones, the chief of police for Montgomery County, Maryland, where Kavanaugh lives, said Nicholas Roske “turned around to consider his next move after noticing U.S. Marshals stationed outside the judge’s house.” At that point, he texted his sister and told her of his intentions, and she convinced him to call 911, which he did.”
Roske was arrested early Wednesday morning after telling a 911 worker that he had a gun on him and was having suicidal thoughts.
According to an FBI affidavit, Roske told authorities he had traveled from California to kill “a certain United States Supreme Court justice” and that he was upset by the leak of the Supreme Court’s opinion regarding abortion rights, a upcoming gun control case. and last month’s school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
Authorities said last week marshals saw Roske emerge from a taxi outside the judge’s house at 1:05 am, “dressed in black and carrying a backpack and a suitcase.” Montgomery County Police said they responded to an 911 call at 1:42 a.m
“I commend the police dispatcher and call-taker’s excellent work with our Emergency Communications Center, as well as the brave actions of our officers who may be placed in a dangerous and unstable situation to arrest this suspect,” Jones said in the statement.
Roske has been in prison since his arrest and is scheduled to appear in court again on June 22. CNN has reached out to its attorney for comment.
The Washington Post previously, the texts reported between Roske and his sister.
