Man, 77, dead after suspected hit-and-run in east Sydney

A man is dead after a suspected hit-and-run in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on Friday, sparking a search for the driver of the vehicle.

Police say they found the 77-year-old man injured on Roslyn Street in Rushcutters Bay after a pedestrian was reportedly hit by a vehicle that failed to stop around 3.30pm.

The man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst in critical condition.

He died around 3 a.m. on Saturday.

The police crash team is investigating the incident.

Officials have asked anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
